Drone Facts for Kids
Drones are used in many different ways in our modern day world, but what exactly are they and how do they work? If you have ever wondered that, we have everything you want to know right here!
A drone is a flying device that does not have a pilot on board but which is controlled from a remote location. The technical term for them is Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), and they can be made any size. Remote controlled airplanes are not all that different to what a drone is like! Because they do not have to have a pilot on board, they can fly into any locations, no matter how risky or how long the trip takes.
Drones are used to deliver items to people all over the world. They can carry packages safely and on time. Drones are also used to check on traffic issues on the roadways. Many of the traffic news on television and on the radio are being supplied by images from a drone. They are also used to capture beautiful aerial shots for movies and can check on the formation of hurricanes and all manner of weather.
Drones can also be used to protect animals. They can help map out the area of conservation and can alert people if poachers are on the land. They can even be used for rescue operations and to search for missing people.
It is easy to see why drones are such an important tool in our world. With their ability to fly anywhere in the world, we can use them for any number of things.
